Having a county fair every year gives us a chance to show what we’re really capable of in Warren County in the arena of agriculture, art, and heritage. The lessons and live demonstrations that we are privileged to witness each year give testament to the latent talent that imbues our people. There is little doubt that our nation is struggling in what could best be described as troublesome times. However, there is an equal, if not greater, awareness that as always in our past we will overcome all kevinlobstacles. The very fact that we can, and if necessary will, resort to the generations of iron willed, self determination that has been the hallmark of American people.

This trait, so proudly and elegantly displayed each year on our fairgrounds, is itself a great source of comfort for me and, I hope, for all who visit. There is no doubt that we have the ability to sustain ourselves with food, shelter, clothing, communication, entertainment and innovation regardless of whatever happens in society. This truly unique capability is kept alive from generation to generation in no small part thanks to the contribution of our county fair!

The county fair, however, would not be feasible nor even possible were it not for the dozens of volunteers tirelessly giving their time, knowledge and expertise to assuring the passage of Warren County’s heritage and history from generation to generation. It is among the greatest joys of my position as your Fair Board President to work with these people who are so selfless in sharing their knowledge in order to make our exposition a success. No one is getting rich from this fair, but all who are involved are most certainly enriched. Not only because they give of themselves to their neighbors, but because they are helping to ensure the continuation of the American way of life that we each cherish.

Thank You every one for volunteering, and thank every one of you for attending, enjoying and learning what is possible in terms of self provision from our antecedents.
